Techno-heads should rejoice, as producer and DJ Rolando has uploaded The Aztec Mystic Mix to his Soundcloud. Fans of Underground Resistance, a militantly charged outcropping of Detroit techno founded in the late 1980s by Jeff Mills and “Mad” Mike Banks, claim Rolando’s 72-minute long mix as one of the best products of the scene.
Previously released on CD only in 1999, The Aztec Mystic Mix experiments with funk and techno and comprises a smattering of Rolando productions under the eponymous moniker as well as numbers from Banks, The Suburban Knight, Drexciya, and others. It promises to offer nostalgia to older ravers and something fresh for young listeners.
