NBC’s “Motown 25” television special to release DVD box set

After more than 20 years of dormancy, Motown Records’ 25th anniversary TV-special Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever will be released as a six-DVD box set. 

 

The 1983 NBC television special hosted live performances by many of Motown’s greatest musicians, and offered behind-the-scene footage of Detroit’s most iconic personalities. Featured Motown 25 artists included: Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson/Jackson 5, Stevie Wonder, The Supremes, The Temptations, Four Tops, The Miracles, Lionel Richie/ The Commodores, Mary Wells, Martha Reeves, The Vandellas, Gladys Knight & the Pips and others.  

 

Originally packaged in 1991 (VHS), the Motown 25 special has grown to include more than 14 hours of unseen footage, and exclusive interviews with producers, artists and executives. Pre-orders are available for online purchase here.
