Detroit’s Motor City Pride festival, an annual two-day event celebrating Michigan’s LGBT community, will honor Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender citizens with a weekend of food, pageantry, and music at Hart Plaza June 7 & 8.
In addition to the event’s scheduled golf outing, family picnic, and commitment ceremony, the Michigan Equality-backed festival will host more than 40 music acts, performers, artists, speakers, and distinguished LGBT community members between four stages at Hart Plaza. Musical acts include: Flint’s Tunde Olaniran, The Infatuations, Pastel Arsenal, Killer Flamingos, Little Animal, and others.
The celebration will include the annual Motor City Pride parade (begins at Fort St. and Lafayette St., and ends at Hart Plaza), LGBT-associated vendors, and a wedding ceremony. Sponsors of the event include: Bud Light, General Motors, Three Olives vodka, Delta Airlines, Whole Foods, Necto nightclub, the United Auto Workers international union, Uber, Comerica Bank, Motor City Casino, MGM Grand Detroit, Kroger, and others.
