The grand architect of funk outfit Parliament-Funkadelic — George Clinton — will visit Detroit’s famed United Sound Systems recording studio in December for a rare meet-and-greet and book-signing opportunity with fans.
Clinton’s memoir, “Brothers Be, Yo Like George, Ain’t That Funkin’ Kinda Hard on You?,” is a personal recant of nearly six decades in the music industry. The story begins with Clinton’s time as a Motown songwriter, in addition to acting producer and arranger for multiple Detroit soul record labels, and culminates with his legacy’s impact on today’s music industry.
Clinton will promote the story himself at United Sound Systems on Saturday, December 20, (7 p.m. – 10 p.m.) giving fans a chance to meet the 73-year-old funk legend and receive a signed copy of his new book. Tickets will be made available on Saturday, December 6, through United Sounds Systems.
