Eminem unveils Detroit Tigers apparel collaboration

In wake of Detroit superstar Eminem and tour partner Rihanna’s highly-acclaimed Monster Tour, the “rap god” has announced an official partnership with one of Detroit’s most famous organizations – the Detroit Tigers.

The Detroit Tigers have played a part in Eminem’s 20+ year career as a symbol of the city of Detroit in general, as well as the semi-official symbol of Eminem’s group D12. (Eminem also has an old English “D” tattooed on his forearm.) Now, Detroit’s rap royalty, and Major League Baseball’s hopeful contenders, will share face time with the unveiling of a New-Era Monster Tour ball cap and an official Monster Tour MLB jersey.

Eminem announced the release via Instagram September 2, and confirmed with more posts on September 3.

Eminem and Rihanna performed two back-to-back performances at Comerica Park, the home of the Detroit Tigers, in late August. An estimated 90,000 people attended the six-stop tour, and featured approximately 50 songs each performance.

Only days after the completion of the Monster Tour, Eminem announced the 2014 release of his ninth studio album, titled Shady XV. The two-disk album will feature one greatest hits compilation, along with a new complete release featuring collaborations with D12, Slaughterhouse, Bad Meets Evil and Yelawolf.
