Eminem calls in to radio show and speaks with Redman

Lord Sear recently hosted New Jersey rapper Redman on The All Out Show. What should have been a standard episode of the program, which airs on SiriusXM satellite radio, ended up becoming a legendary edition to the series.

While Redman was in the studio, the creator of the Shade 45 channel himself — Eminem — called in to chat with the guest star. While they haven’t had any serious collaborations together, it seemed from the conversation that one may be in the works.

The two rappers have been friends for years and consider each other to be arguably the greatest of all time. On The Eminem Show track “Till I Collapse,” Marshall Mathers identifies his favorite rappers. He lists himself, Nas, Kurupt, Jada, Andre 3000, Biggie, 2Pac, Jay-Z, and at number one — Reggie, aka Redman.

On air, the two friends shot the breeze, reminisced about the past, and discussed how both are working on new music. It was a unique moment to be able to listen to Em casually speak with one of his peers and idols. Mathers — who can be verbose, stern, and sometimes downright pissed off — sounded extremely relatable in this segment.

Just as Eminem revisited one of his best albums, The Marshall Mathers LP, Redman is currently working on Muddy Waters 2. Though it can’t be confirmed that Eminem will take Redman up on his offer, Red did claim to have room for his friend to spit a verse on the upcoming record.

As for Eminem, he did not discuss any definitive plans for an album release, although he did claim to be in the studio recording tracks. In any case, it will be very exciting to see what both artists have in store.
