The 35th annual Detroit Jazz Festival has released its four-day lineup and performance schedule for the 2014 Labor Day weekend.
The Detroit Jazz Festival, which is free to the public, boasts five stages, more than 100 acts, fireworks, late-night jam sessions, a cash-prize piano playing contest and educational activities for young listeners. Since 1980 the “Jazz Fest” has brought renowned jazz and blues performers to the Motor City, such as: Dave Brubeck, Mulgrew Miller, The Manhattan Transfer, Paquito d’Rivera, Dave Holland, Regina Carter, Take 6, and Tower of Power.
The 2014 Detroit Jazz Festival will feature performances by artists such as: Kevin Eubanks, Stanley Clarke, Gary Burton, USAF Airmen of Note Big Band, Mack Avenue Super Band, The Dirty Dozen Brass Brand, Central Michigan University Big Band, Detroit Public Schools Showcase, and the Randy Weston & Billy Harper Duo.
