To the dismay of electronic music fans everywhere, the highly-anticipated Detroit Electronic Music Festival (DEMF), and its counterpart Federation of Electronic Music Technology FEMT have announced postponement until July of 2015.
The festivals’ cancellation will not affect Movement Electronic Music Festival on Memorial Day weekend, but it will lighten Detroit’s electronic music events calendar. The festivals were planned to offer electronic music fans a double-event over July 4th weekend. DEMF had been scheduled as a free event to take place in Campus Martius. FEMT was to be held within Ford Field.
The official statement from DEMF and FEMT blames the cancellation on problems with the Campus Martius location and complications related to the new M-1 rail construction.
Those looking for a refund on tickets purchased for FEMT can inquire by contacting the Ford Field box office.
