Though it may not feel like it, spring is upon us, and what better way to celebrate than with a hot new mixtape from Dej Loaf? Luckily for listeners everywhere, this week on Instagram the rapper announced All Jokes Aside, which is expected to drop on April 6. [UPDATE: The mixtape has been released and is available for download via DatPiff. You can also stream it below.] The post was accompanied by a teaser of the banger “Vibes,” featuring Dej’s sing-song flow and a fly-as-hell jumpsuit.
2015 was a huge year for the Detroit-born Dej. She released her first EP with Columbia Records, #AndSeeThatsTheThing, opened for Nicki Minaj on The Pinkprint Tour, shared multiple videos, and found a romantic and creative partner in Lil Durk. Given that All Jokes Aside is coming hot on the heels of her new video for “Desire,” it looks like she doesn’t plan on slowing down at all in 2016.
The ten-track tape features Silkk the Shocker on one cut, but other than that it appears we have a mainly solo effort to look forward to.
