Carl Craig has already announced the reissue of his seminal album More Songs About Food and Revolutionary Art, but now the second wave Detroit techno legend is ready to embark on another act of creative revolution. The veteran of the Motor City’s electronic music scene has shared details on an international event concept entitled Detroit Love.
The series, which will lead up to an album by the same name in 2015, is “designed to bring together and support the sounds of Detroit, and take a little of the techno brotherhood to clubs and festivals the world over,” as indicated in a press release. On top of a prior show in Amsterdam, the event has confirmed seven other dates, with more to follow.
During the event, Craig will use a “new technical set up with 4-CD deck mixing, looping, live editing, and sampling,” as well as video mapping “depicting the surreal urban Detroit landscape.” Cities slated for the series include Miami, New York, Lyon, Barcelona, Berlin, and Ibiza. The Motor City will get its love during next year’s Movement Festival.
