As part of a recent study focused on secondary market ticket prices (resold tickets, Ex: StubHub, eBay, scalpers…), Forbes released a ranked list of the most expensive concert tours for those buying tickets from a secondary source.
Atop the list are some of music’s most internationally-celebrated and highest-paid personalities, including: Taylor Swift, One Direction, Chris Brown and other Top-40 superstars. In addition to these names, legacy acts such as: Fleetwood Mac, Neil Diamond, The Who and U2 have also found their way to ticket-scalping glory.
However, unsuspectedly, the seventh-highest entry on the list is Detroit’s own Bob Seger (Ride Out Tour), with a whopping average resale ticket price of $251.57. Tickets for Seger’s upcoming performance at Pittsburgh’s CONSOL Energy Center, January 22, range in price between $80 and $110 via Ticketmaster.
Though scalping tickets above the original resale price in the state of Michigan remains a misdemeanor, scalping is widely practiced through secondary market services. See the full list of secondary market ticket price record-holders below:
