If you didn’t catch Theo Parrish’s live tour last year, then you’re in luck, as the Detroit-based techno producer is putting out a 12″ of the show under the alias The Unit. Due out later this month via Wildheart Recordings, the two-track release was recorded during a scheduled date and features a cover of “Ain’t No Need” by Skye as well as Parrish’s own “Walkin Thru the Sky,” which saw its first digital release last year.
Theo Parrish, who also heads the Sound Signature record label, went on tour last year in support of his highly acclaimed album American Intelligence. He recruited a full band, comprising Amp Fiddler on keys and vocals, singer Ideeyah, drummer Myele Manzanza, bassist Akwasi Mensah, guitarist Duminie Deporres, and a posse of dancers.
