In an attempt to create a usable beat on-the-fly, Bruiser Brigade beat-maker Skywlkr has become the second Detroit-native to appear on Mass Appeal’s production showcase – “Rhythm Roulette.”
“Rhythm Roulette,” a web series developed by Nas’ Mass Appeal label, features producers organically creating beats from randomly-selected works. (Musicians are blindfolded during their selection process.) Notable participants have included Mac Miller (Larry Fisherman), Oh No, El-P, Black Milk, and, from the program’s latest installment, Danny Brown DJ and Detroit producer – Skywlkr.
Skywlkr’s appearance on “Rhythm Roulette” is complemented by the familiar scenery of Detroit’s own People’s Records, in addition to one of the Motor City’s favorite production tools – the MPC.
