Kid Rock announces new album, First Kiss, due out in February

The Motor City’s favorite rap-rockin’ cowboy, Kid Rock, announced today that his new album, First Kiss, will be released on February 24 through Warner Bros Records — his first for the label.

The record is largely produced by Kid Rock, with co-production by Dann Huff on two songs, and recorded at the artist’s studio in Michigan. First Kiss is Rock’s first full-length since 2012’s Rebel Soul as well as his tenth studio album.

According to a statement on the artist’s website, the significant “touring on the last album cycle allowed Kid Rock to play in front of over 550,000 people in one summer, and left him energized to write and record new material without taking much of a break.” Details on the sound of the new album are scant, though the release promises that First Kiss “signals the continued evolution of one of music’s most versatile performers.”

Plans for an ambitious summer 2015 tour with Rock’s Twisted Brown Trucker Band are expected to be announced soon. In addition, the first single from First Kiss is expected to be released early next year in multiple formats, accompanied by a video, “and the rest of the shitshow that goes with releasing an album.”

In other Kid Rock news, the musician has pledged $20,000 to help produce a book on Orbit Magazine’s history.
