Michigan-based production house Never Say Die MI has released a visual accompaniment for J Walker and the Crossguards’ live performance via The Living Room Sessions Vol. 2.

The NSD MI Living Room Sessions Vol. 2 project is comprised of several private performances which are filmed and recorded live from their secret living-room location. The series creates a video specific to each participating artists’ performance, as well as a comprehensive album of the event.

This visual release marks the project’s final video component (Jamaican Queens, James Linck, and Mexican Knives videos have already been released), in addition to the series’ live-recorded album. In their video, J Walker and the Crossguards perform their chugging-rock anthem “Drifter.”

“I first saw J Walker and the Crossguards in Ferndale at The Loving Touch,” said  NSD MI Producer Tifini Kamara. “I… fell in love with their sound, which I describe as if The Doors and The Black Keys had a baby… For the Living Room Sessions they played as a three-piece, so you don’t get the keys included in their set, but you do get that Detroit-garage flavor. That is what makes them so unique. They were actually the first set of the day and they played as though they were at a gig.”

The Living Room Sessions Vol. 2 features Detroit artists, such as: Jamaican QueensMexican KnivesJames Linck & Christopher Jarvis, and J. Walker & The Crossguards. This one-time concert was held at the home of a local-music tastemaker in the Woodbridge neighborhood of Detroit, with a limited number of pre-approved attendees permitted access.
