Detroit’s hip hop giant Danny Brown has graced viewers with a new music video for “25 Bucks” featuring Purity Ring.
The visual accompaniment follows Brown on a journey through time as the emcee revisits scenes from his own childhood. The track focuses on Brown’s mother making sacrifices as he was growing up in Detroit, including braiding neighbors’ hair on his front porch for “25 bucks.”
Brown’s October release Old is a testament to the rapper’s undeniable versatility, as Purity Ring’s “25 Bucks” production brings a unique and refreshing addition to the album. Directed by NORTON, the video is a continuous shot which includes characters frozen in time, Danny Brown’s seemingly possessed delivery, and Purity Ring’s Megan James.
