Michigan-based production house Never Say Die MI is preparing to film their second installment of The Living Room Sessions: a music video and recording series focused on intimate performances – this time in Detroit.

The first installment of The Living Room Sessions series was focused primarily on musical acts of Northern/Mid-Michigan. The 2013 project featured several private performances which were filmed and recorded live from their separate and secret living-room locations.

“After reaching out to a great deal of northern michigan bands, and a few from metro-Detroit, we literally put together everything in two weeks,” said co-founder Tifini Kamara.  “I think we worked from 9 am until 9 pm. We were in a tiny living room with two fans. The heat was miserable, but we were pretty hyped off of the fact that people said yes, and were showing up to their sets excited to do something different.”

Following a successful ad campaign for Detroit’s Simplified Clothing, Never Say Die MI has announced a March 8  filming date for the entire TLRS 2 (Detroit) project. The series is set to include some of Detroit’s favorite acts, including: Jamaican Queens, Mexican Knives, Ritual Howls, Shigeto and J. Walker & The Crossguards. This one-time concert is scheduled to be held at the home of a local-music tastemaker, with a limited number of pre-approved attendees permitted access.

TLRS2 promises the creation of a one-song music video for each artist in attendance, as well as a compilation album of the performance in its entirety. The live-recorded album will be given to listeners for free via download and online stream.

“Never Say Die is comprised of proud metro-Detroiters,” said co-founder and content creator Leah Castile. “We’re very pleased with how the first session turned out and we thought it was only right to head to Detroit and do it on a grander scale.”

Video and audio releases from TLRS2’s March 8 performance can be expected by late spring.
