Detroit Symphony Orchestra releases free mobile app

DSOtoGO

The Detroit Symphony Orchestra, referred to as “the most accessible orchestra on the planet,” is living up to its title with the release of a mobile app that allows fans to experience Detroit’s favorite orchestra on the go.

The DSO app, titled “DSO to GO,” is a major step forward into the digital world for a music genre known for upholding tradition, while still respecting analog instrumentation and catering to a niche demographic. “DSO to GO” is not only designed to introduce the rich world of classical music to a generation dependent on new technology, but also to encourage older DSO fans to embrace the medium of the future.

“DSO to GO” has made the Detroit Symphony Orchestra the first classical music institution to offer a concert streaming service to their fans — for free. The app is available for both Android and iOS and includes a version for tablet access.
