In the midst of Michigan’s coldest season, punk/metal/thrash/rock fans in Detroit are preparing to have their faces figuratively melted for the next four days.

Berserker Fest, a brand-new metal festival hosted in Ferndale, celebrates its first performance on Wednesday and continues until Saturday evening. The guitar-driven mega show is scheduled to feature more than 50 bands split between both Ferndale’s The Loving Touch and Woodward Avenue Brewers’ “upstairs” and “downstairs” spaces.

The kicker: an all-ages, full-festival pass is only $20. (Single day $15.)

Berserker Fest will feature acts such as: Detroit’s own Terrible Twos, Thunderbirds Are Now!, Golden Torso, Ritual Howls and Berserker Fest organizer Shawn Knight’s own Child Bite. The festival also includes Chicago’s acclaimed metal group Macabre and countless others.

Those waiting for an all-metal/hardcore/punk/thrash festival in the Detroit area – wait no longer. Berserker Fest promises to be one of Detroit’s best local music showcases of the year.
