According to Monday’s reports by Fox 2 News and the Michigan Chronicle: FM 98 WJLB has confirmed on-air hosts Coco and Foolish have been fired from the popular radio morning show Coco, Foolish and Mr. Chase in the Morning.
The Chronicle reports that a WJLB representative has admitted the Friday dismissals were due to “taking the show in different direction.”
Mr. Chase is expected to remain as an on-air host, however, his bio page no longer appears on WJLB’s website. In addition, the Coco, Foolish and Mr. Chase in the Morning web page has been re-routed to WJLB’s main page. The show’s highly-active Facebook page has been removed, and its Twitter feed has been inactive since January 2.
Coco’s 17-year career with the station, as well as Foolish’s dedicated comedy fans, has inspired a Facebook page protesting the morning show firings. The page has gained more than 2,600 “likes” as of Tuesday morning.
