Nothing Elegant (Amy Dreamcatcher and Lady Fantastic) have announced a 90s-fueld New Year’s Eve dance-party at Detroit’s Old Miami. The event will feature CoOwnaz artists Doc Waffles and Eddie Logix, Cold Men Young and singer Laura Finlay in a barrage of live hip hop and DJ sets.
The event description says:
“New Years Eve, a night of (usually) expensive disappointment. An evening where you pay too much to go to a bar to get hit on by drunk douchebags, drink overpriced cocktails, wear pretty outfits for far too sloppy an evening, and go home in a cab to puke up champagne. This year come ring in the new year with the ladies of Nothing Elegant in the most fantastically, unpretentious, debaucherous way…with dance floor shenanigans, Lightshow Bob, live hip-hop, and whatever other indulgences we can fit into the evening.”
The announcement arrived Monday evening in the form of a promotional video by The Right Brothers parodying the 80s television classic Cheers. In addition to the scheduled performers, the video highlights the participation of legendary Detroit lighting performer Lightshow Bob. The 21-and-up event costs $10 ($5 if you bring a pizza…) and promises a Jello-shot midnight toast.
