Cliff Bells jazz club robbed at gunpoint, $3000 and car stolen

Three masked gunmen entered Cliff Bells jazz club at approximately 4 a.m. on Sunday, December 15, making off with $3000 and a customer’s stolen vehicle.

 

The Detroit Police Department reports that the assault began when a 27-year-old employee was placing trash in a dumpster located behind the Downtown Detroit establishment near Grand Circus Park. The assailants approached the employee, forced him back into the club at gunpoint and assaulted him.

 

The gunmen proceeded to force patrons and employees to surrender their money, as well as one customer’s 2005 Chrysler Pacifica.  

 

The DPD is currently investigating the incident. The stolen car’s license plate is DBN 0415. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Detroit Police Investigative Operations at (313) 596-1340.
